Initiatives of Embassy of Brazil

Innovation Diplomacy Program (PDI)

Diplomacy is an essential tool in stimulating technological innovation in Brazil and contributing to the country's economic growth. The Innovation Diplomacy Program (PDI) seeks to promote a country that produces knowledge, products and services in sectors of the scientific frontier and that has the capacity to be a world reference in certain technologies. In 2021, 120 activities are planned under the PDI, in 46 cities, 31 countries, impacting more than 6,000 researchers and entrepreneurs.

Promotion of Brazilian Exports (Trade)

The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) works to promote Brazilian products and services abroad, and to attract foreign investment to strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy. The Agency supports companies from 80 different industries, which export to 200 markets.

The Agency carries out several commercial promotion initiatives, such as commercial and prospective missions, business rounds, support to the participation of Brazilian companies in major business fairs, and visits of foreign buyers and opinion formers to assess the Brazilian productive structure, among other business platforms aimed to strengthen the Brazil brand. The Agency supports more than 10,000 companies from 82 different industries, which in turn export to 200 markets.

Investment Attraction and Internationalization of Brazilian Companies

Apex-Brasil also acts to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction. The role of Apex-Brasil is to promote the expansion of investments already made, and to include Brazil in the "short list" of target countries and influence the investment decision by providing strategic information, full support to the work of site location (arranging and accompanying the visits of foreign companies to potential receptor States) and an aftercare work.

In addition to its headquarters in Brasilia, Apex-Brasil has eight business offices in important global markets, to assist in the process of internationalization of Brazilian companies, prospect business opportunities and enhance national participation in major global markets, also serving as a reference for the attraction of foreign investment. Apex-Brasil has a full Internationalization program to help Brazilian companies understand the process and make decisions.
